Kano State Police Command has arrested an undergraduate student from Bayero University (BUK) for making an attempt to bomb GSM Market.

The student allegedly abandoned a polythene bag which contained wheat flour mixed with guinea corn and remote controlled bomb inside the market.

According to ASP Magaji Musa Majia, the bag has been abandoned on January 23 at around 2:20 PM at GSM Market junction in Farm Center by some men who were riding in a tricycle.

“A Good Samaritan alerted the police through our emergency telephone line. On receiving the information, the command’s Anti Bomb Disposal Unit was mobilized to the scene, where they confirmed the object concealed was a remote controlled bomb. The scene was safely secured and the bomb was detonated without any injury or damage,” according to Majia.

Majia also added that the policemen arrested Mohammed Kabir from Auchi, Edo State. He is an undergraduate student from the Bayero University taking up Business Administration.
