UNBELIEVABLE: 8-Year Old Boy Married a 61-Year Old Woman
Marriage is a sacred process. It should always be taken seriously and people should only marry if they are ready to face the responsibility of having a spouse.
This weekend, around 100 people had the opportunity to witness one of the most unusual weddings ever.
An 8-year old boy, Sanele Masilela, married a 61-year old woman, Helen Shabangu. Take note, they had the blessings of their families because they were actually present during the ceremony.
Not only that. Helen's husband and their 5 children were also present at the wedding which was held in Zimbabwe. Yes, Helen has a husband already and they are still married.
It is a good thing that there is an explanation why this event happened.
The grooms aunt, Patience Masilela (46) said: "The boy was named after his late grandfather who never had a white wedding, so the ancestors told the boy to get married and he chose Helen to be his bride.
The family took his desire to get married very seriously. They paid for the bride in March last year and spent a lot on the wedding because they believed it was what the ancestors wanted."
"I'm married and have five kids of my own, but I know that this is what the ancestors wanted – and now they are happy. It is a ritual. We are just playing now, but it is a sign that he will get married one day," Helen said.
"I told my mother that I wanted to get married because I really did want to. I chose her because I love her and I'm happy that I married her – but I will go to school and study hard. When I'm older I will marry a lady my own age," Sanele explained.
Helen's long-time husband Alfred Shabangu (65) is not against this marriage. As a matter of fact, he and his kids are happy with it since it was just what their ancestors wanted.
The new couple were happy and they sealed their marriage with a kiss.
As expected, community members could not get over it. They were shocked when they heard about it.
Guys, this wedding is not legal. It was just done for ritual purposes.
Do you have any reactions to this, guys?
